Sydney Rood has been teaching with Ballet Lubbock since 2020, first starting as a teacher in the Dance Abilities and DanceConnect Programs. She is a recent graduate of the Texas Tech University with a Bachelors in Fine Arts Dance. During her time at Texas Tech, she performed in works by Jason Samuels Smith, Yvonne Racz Key, Kyla Olsen, Amanda K Miller and Charlotte Boye-Christensen. She was the student representative for the BFA Dance cohort, and the President of Chi Tau Epsilon the dance Service Organization.

Sydney spent her summers training at intensives such as Alonzo King LINES, Joffrey Pre-Professional Ballet Intensive, Ballet Lubbock, and Houston Contemporary, working with artists such as Alonzo King, Brandon Coleman, Bernard Gaddis, and many others. Sydney also has a love for choreographing and has recently choreographed Oklahoma! The Musical with Moonlight Musicals here in Lubbock.

Sydney is very excited to be in her new roles with Ballet Lubbock! She knows the transformative power that dance can bring to everyone, and loves being in a place that shares that same mission.
