Event Description

For the second year, Ballet Lubbock is honored to welcome the School of American Ballet (SAB) for an exclusive Teacher Workshop, offering expanded programming and broader access for ballet educators and students.

This year’s workshop includes new class offerings for younger students, and more students are encouraged to attend alongside their teachers for a richer, hands-on experience. A limited hotel block is also available at a discounted rate for out-of-tow

9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Cost: $180/Full Workshop, $100/Day

$65/day for students

Location: Ballet Lubbock

9:30 – 11:00 am: Technique (Ages 11-13)
11:15 – 12:30 pm: Pointe (Ages 11-13)
12:30 – 1:00 pm: Lunch
1:00 – 2:45 pm: Technique + Pointe + Variations (Ages 11-13)
3:00 – 4:00 pm: Q&A

Sunday, February 15th

Student Requirements for School of American Ballet Workshop at Ballet Lubbock

  • A minimum of four (4) years of strong, consistent ballet technique training
  • A minimum of one (1) year of strong, consistent pointe technique training, if applicable
  • An excellent understanding of ballet terminology, vocabulary, and concepts
  • A clear sense of alignment, center control, flexibility and strength
  • A strong sense of musicality and the ability to assimilate corrections
  • A strong understanding of human anatomy
  • high level of concentration, energy and confidence when executing movement
  • A high effort of professionalism by arriving to class on time, dressing properly, and being prepared to dance
