Janie Bush

Production Manager

Janie Bush has been a part of the Ballet Lubbock family since 2001, serving as room mother while her daughter Emily danced at Ballet Lubbock. Since then she has been a guild member, seamstress, assistant costume mistress, assistant stage manager and before joining the staff as Ballet Lubbock’s production manager.

Ms. Bush holds a B.S. in Education and has worked in nonprofit organizations throughout her career, specializing in children’s programming, administration, production, events, and education.

Her love for theatre has led to her serve as writer, producer, director, costume mistress, and production stage manager for various theatrical productions. While in Lubbock, Janie has been a part of production teams with Lubbock Community Theatre, TTU School of Theatre and Dance, LHUCA, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, and Ballet Lubbock.

Ms. Bush has readily answered the requests of organizations such as Voice of Hope (Lubbock Rape Crisis Center), Women’s Protective Services of Lubbock, Hospice of Lubbock, and others to produce programming and performance pieces for survivors of trauma. She has co-authored two Texas Commission on the Arts grants and received funding to provide therapy and awareness through the arts community of Lubbock. Janie has also served on a TCA panel to evaluate grant requests. In 2016 Janie Bush was named the YWCA’s Woman of Excellence in Arts and Culture.

Janie’s duties at Ballet Lubbock include the supervision of all production elements for public performance. She owes the success of these productions to the production staff of Ballet Lubbock and the amazing individuals who make up the Parent Volunteer Network. Her favorite moment of a production is when the curtain opens, and the magic begins
