Claire Newey has been teaching at Ballet Lubbock since 2021, first starting as an assistant within the school and as a DanceConnect teacher. She
graduated from Texas Tech University with a BFA in dance in 2024. She has trained in multiple styles and has performed in pieces by Jason Samuels Smith, YNOT, Yvonne Racz, and Kyla Olson. She was the student representative for the BFA Dance Cohort, a student ambassador for the Talkington School of Visual and Performing Arts, and the Vice President of Chi Tau Epsilon the dance service organization.
Claire has spent her summers attending intensives and working professionally. Most recently she spent the summer as a performer in TEXAS Outdoor Musical. She also recently choreographed Moonlight Musical’s “Hello Dolly!” here in Lubbock.
Claire is excited to continue working with Ballet Lubbock in this new role! She is aware of the importance of educating young minds in the arts and looks forward to serving our community in this capacity!
