In The Community

Ballet Lubbock changes lives and our community through programs that
1) Impact individuals through year-round weekly to daily education that provide a rich, in-depth experience, and
2) Expose large audiences to the beauty, artistry, and expression of dance.

Ballet Lubbock partners with Communities in Schools (CIS) to provide weekly in-school and after-school classical ballet instruction in 10 elementary schools across 6 school districts so that transportation or cost is never a barrier to artistic expression, discipline, or finding your group of friends:

IN THE HOSPITALS – Arts In Medicine

Ballet Lubbock partners with Covenant Children’s Hospital as part of their Arts in Medicine Programs. From 10:00 am to 12:00 noon every Tuesday and Thursday Marcos Antonio Vasquez teaches one-on-one ballet to the patients and their families as they are interested and able.

Ballet Lubbock’s DANCEabilities are classes designed to foster a love of dance and creative expression for individuals with specific needs. Ballet Lubbock is proud to present a program created especially for children with autism or Down syndrome.

Highly individualized and responsive to each child, classes blend classical ballet technique with varied movement and music activities within a fun, positive, and empowering atmosphere!

A significant component of the Ballet’s mission is to ensure that dance education opportunities are accessible to as many interested students as possible, and thus offers over $45,000 worth of tuition assistance each year.
